I arrived home on Mother’s Day after a week’s visit with my cousin researching the overlapping branches of our family to find violets blooming all over my front yard! This one grew up against the front porch. Don’t remember these sprouting in years past. But reading History Rambler’s post about her grandmother’s violets put them on my mind.
It was almost like a special Mother’s Day surprise from my mom and maternal grandma (both of whom are deceased).
So I transplanted some of them to the hosta garden.
Maybe they’ll be happier there instead of in the yard. At the very least, they won’t get mowed.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom and Grandma!
